Coming back to practice medicine in his hometown of New Iberia, Dr. Charlie Moore is an otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon with comprehensive training in chronic ear, nose, and throat conditions. Dr. Moore will be welcoming patients to Southern ENT's New Iberia location.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with his undergraduate degree in computer science and software engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU), Dr. Moore earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He was elected to the nation’s most prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha and was also the recipient of the Cheryl Clark Lyles Outstanding Student Award in Otolaryngology.
Dr. Moore completed his residency training in Otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. He spent a significant portion of his training time in the world-renown ENT department at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. There, he received a grant from the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology to study DNA alternations in children with obstructive sleep apnea. During residency, he also spent research time and published papers on pediatric airway reconstruction and on the microbiology of chronic rhinosinusitis.
Dr. Moore can diagnose and treat a realm of otolaryngology issues. He has special interests in comprehensive pediatric ENT care, thyroid and parathyroid gland surgery, medical and surgical management of sinus disease and allergy, and surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea, including the Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator implant. With extensive and well-rounded surgical training, Dr. Moore also treats chronic ear disease including hearing loss, neck masses and head and neck cancer, and voice and swallowing disorders.
