Family, friends and team members were present today to formally recognize and congratulate Dusti Dugas, recipient of the Wilbur Allain Memorial Stellar Award.
The nomination praised Dusti for her compassion and empathy for patients and specifically mentioned her care for and education of ostomy patients who are 'particularly vulnerable.' The nomination went on to recognize Dusti's dedication to helping her co-workers and always serving as an example of professionalism and what excellent teamwork looks like. Dusti was recognized for always helping to create a safe environment for patients and staff and always being eager to assist her co-workers.
The Wilbur Allain Memorial Stellar Award is presented to an Iberia Medical Center team member who exemplifies exceptional dedication to serving others, leadership and performance excellence. Raymond Allain, IMC Foundation President, presented the award to Dust during a surprise ceremony on June 29th.
The award is named after Wilbur Louis Allain, Sr., Raymond's father. Wilbur was one of the charter members of the Iberia Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 Board of Commissioners in 1951. Mr. Allain’s legacy of serving others and love of community lives on though the Stellar Award, presented quarterly at Iberia Medical Center.
