Emergency Services

The newly renovated emergency department at Iberia Medical Center is designed to serve critically ill and seriously injured patients.  Physicians, mid-level providers (nurse practitioners or physician assistants), nurses, ER technicians, x-ray and laboratory technologists make up the team of professionals available 24 hours a day to meet the needs of emergency patients.

We have the latest in technology with the addition of "Cerebella” our neuro-stroke robot.  Iberia Medical Center's emergency department has partnered with Opelousas General and Our Lady of Lourdes in the fight to improve the outcomes of stroke victims in Louisiana. This union will strengthen our local area's fight to add quality as well as quantity of life for patients who have had a stroke or are in the acute phase of having a stroke. A part of this network is to put the patient and family face to face with a neurosurgeon or Interventionalist as soon as possible to improve their outcome and ease their fears. Our emergency department will continue to provide high quality, personal care to all who walk through our doors.
